WILLIAM WALLACE Obituary
Wallace Oct. 16, 1927 - Apr. 20, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY William Howell Wallace passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his home in Oklahoma City. William was born October 16, 1927 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Andrew M. and Erin Wallace, who preceded him in death. His brother is Hugh A. Wallace and his wife Glenda of St. Joseph, MO. He married Mollie Marie Godsy of Pryor, Oklahoma, March 5, 1949 at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. During their 64 years of marriage, they had three children, Vickie Wallace Hicks, Oklahoma City, Mark and Greg Wallace, all who survive. Mark is married to Shannon Wallace and they reside in Houston, Texas. Greg is married to Carol Wallace and they reside in Tulsa. William, Better Known as "Bill," graduated from Capitol Hill High School and served in the United States Marine Corps for two years, following his graduation from high school. He grew up in the Oklahoma oil fields, watching his father pursue his career as an oilfield fisherman. It was during that time that he developed a love and passion for Oklahoma and the oil industry. William began his career in the oil industry with Baash Ross Tool Company. His entire professional life was spent in the oil business and he retired in 1986 as district manager with Cameron Iron Works of Oklahoma City. Among his favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and gardening, his greatest joys in life were caring for his family and sharing his love for Jesus. He was proud to always be the one to provide comfort, joy, and assistance to his family and friends. He loved playing with his 11 great grandchildren and sharing stories with them about his life and how to be happy. He had a passion for his friends and much like Will Rogers; he never met a stranger or a man he did not like. He was a big man with a big heart and had a great sense of humor. He leaves behind a huge following of friends, co-workers, and a family that loved him dearly. His six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive. The grandchildren: Andrew Hicks and wife Candice, Amiee Hicks Nail and husband Ronnie, Emily White and husband David, Benjamin, Cobin, and Natalie Wallace. The 11 great-grandchildren include: Carson, Hudson, Isabella and Hannnah Hicks, Hunter and Andrew Nail, John, Micah, Caleb, Bowen, and Lily White. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City followed by the burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
