Omaha, formerly of Madison, NE. Specialist Seier died Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Omaha. Bill was born on June 30, 1987, in Norfolk, NE, the son of Lavern and Vicki (Veik) Seier. He was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 2006. Bill's deep love for his country led to his enlisting in the US Army in 2006. He served in C Troop (R&S), 1-134th Calvary Squadron, when he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. He returned home in 2011 and continued his service to our country in the Nebraska National Guard. During his time in the military, he was awarded the following: Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Nebraska National Guard Homeland Defense Medal, and the Nebraska National Guard Service Ribbon. Bill was employed as an internal auditor for Conductix-Wampfler and was living in Omaha. Sports played a huge role in Bill's life. He had a passion for football and played semi-professional with the Norfolk Thunderbirds. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed going hunting with friends and family. Music was a huge part of his life; he enjoyed listening to rock, heavy metal and country music everywhere he went. Bill was a movie buff and would regularly quote lines from his favorite films. In Seier family tradition, he was an excellent card player and reigning "pitch" champion. Bill is survived by his parents, sister Jamie, brother-in-law Tony, his nephew and godson Ryker of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada and his fiancée, Theresa Devanney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Frank and Marjorie (Camp) Seier and Richard and Romona (Reicks) Veik, and Uncle Dean Veik. A heartfelt thank you to Justin, Tanner and Jeremy. Your strength is greatly appreciated.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10am Friday, January 24, 2014, at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison, NE. Reverend Daniel Kampschneider will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Raeville, NE. Military Rites will be conducted by the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard. VISITATION will be from 4-7pm, Thursday, at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison. RESSEGUIE FUNERAL HOME
