Mr. Markie Reid Gee, 67, of Edgemoor passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte.
Services for Mr. Gee were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Lando Church of God with Revs. Ronnie Greene and Edward Harris officiating. Burial followed at Lando Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Gee was born in York County and the son of the late Walter L. Gee and the late Helen Fannie West Gee. He was a member of the Lando Church of God and retired from Hawthorne Inc. of Columbia. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and doing wood working.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gee was preceded in death by his son, Jason Reid Gee; his brothers, George "Lily" Gee, Walter "Buck" Gee and Truman "Buddy" Gee; and three sisters, Hazel Cookson, Mary Elkins and Barbara Gee.
Mr. Gee is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Annie Outen Gee; his daughters, Tammy G. Shepherd and husband Gary of Richburg and Charlene Salter and husband Michael of Tifton, Ga.; his brothers, Ernest Gee and wife Phyllis of York and Ted Gee and wife Judy of Cleveland, Tenn.; his sisters, Cleava Cooper of Richburg, Nancy Kee and husband Bill of Rock Hill and Madge Gorman of Waynesboro, W. Va.; his grandchildren, Tiffany White, Mikey Salter, Courtney Shepherd and Hannah Shepherd; his great-grandchildren, Chloe Belle White and Jason Owens White; and a lifelong friend, Bob Langley.
