Dick passed away at the age of 76, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, CA. He fought a long and courageous battle with his multiple health issues. He is now at peace in the presences of our Lord.
After graduating from High School, Dick served honorably in the
US Marines as a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corp Band and the Colonel's favorite pitcher at Camp Pendleton.
In 1971, he and his wife Mary with their young son moved to Orange. During his career after the service Dick joined his father in construction, then the grocery business, and retired in manufacturing.
Dick's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the dragster club, his music, playing soft ball as a pitcher, taking a Little League team and coaching them, owner of a racing boat, eating (Oh yaw), traveling, making home improvements and helping others with their home projects. · ·
Dick is survived by his wife Mary of 55 years; son, Blake Meech; daughter-in-law, April Meech; grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher and Isabella; sister, Bev Gorman; sister-in-law, Barbara Meech; sister-in-law, Jan Kile; brother-in-laws, James Kile and Robert Kile; several nieces, nephews and cousins by the dozens
Services where held July 1st, 2014, at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA
