Obituary Condolences

Rodarte, Joe, a retired police officer, loving husband, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on October 29, 2013. Always full of life and energy, Joe lived 77 active and fulfilling years and leaves behind his wife and two children, Robin and Marilyn; as well as his ten loving grandchildren and one great-grandson, Dylan Stingl. Joe proudly served the community for 28 years as a dedicated police officer with the Placentia Police Department before retiring in 1988. During his tenure, he was an officer dedicated to the safety of the community and to the City of Placentia. He is known by his fellow officers and friends as a humble and dedicated man, and named the 1981, "Officer of the Year." It brought him great joy to make others laugh and smile and his friends would remember him by his warm and welcoming character and lively sense of humor. Joe was a proud member of the American Legion, in Placentia. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching Angels Baseball, spending time in the mountains and was always working on home projects for himself and for others. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and will be remembered as a faithful friend, loving father and grandfather. A memorial celebration for him will be held on Fri. Nov. 8, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Old town Placentia. In lieu of flowers, we would respectfully request all donations to the Placentia Police Officers Association, 650 N Rose, P.O Box #622, Placentia, CA 92870 in honor of Joe Rodarte. Donations will go to community and youth projects.
