Negrino, Joseph C.|
1924 - 2013
Negrino, Joseph C., 89, of Westminster, died on August 30, 2013, after a battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his daughter's home in Las Vegas, with family members at his bedside.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 20, 1924. In 1943, immediately after finishing high school, he enlisted in the Navy, and served in World War II on the battleship USS Washington.
After the war, he attended Pace College in New York, graduating with an accounting degree. Shortly thereafter, he met and married his wife Dorothy, and they had four children. In 1960 he moved the family cross-country to Torrance, where he worked for several years at Northrop, moving to Westminster in 1963. In the mid-Sixties, he decided to be his own boss and started his tax business. He loved helping people with their taxes so much that, even after 50 years, he never considered retiring.
After his home, his favorite place in the world was Las Vegas, where he had many friends and delighted in teaching the less experienced how to beat the odds.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Marie Bevins (Phil); by his son, Tom (Dori); and by his son, Robert (Connie). He was a beloved grandpa to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by Dorothy, his wife of 40 years; and their daughter Pattie.
