Obituary Condolences

English, Kenneth Edward

Dana Point lost a friend & resident, Kenneth English, suddenly on 11/27/13. Ken married his best friend & soul mate, Yvonne in '94. In '99 they moved to Dana Point. It was rare anyone would see Ken alone; he & Yvonne were constantly together: working, living & relaxing. After 20 years of marriage they still held hands & their glances found each other when entering the room.

Ken partnered with Yvonne in their landscape architecture business: Legends Design Studio where he managed the computers & field installations, and after retiring from AT&T /Lucent. Ken, an Army Veteran, was honored to assemble benches for the traveling Vietnam Wall. Ken happily enjoyed the Dana Point climate, wearing Hawaiian shirt, flip-flops, shorts & baseball cap. He also enjoyed his other roles: avid walker, dog trainer, grandpa & dad, Chicago Bears fan and Grill Master.

When Ken spoke it was either funny or incredibly insightful. Patient & kind as a rule, never complaining, finding solutions with dignity for all. Ken was a hero to all who knew him.

A memorial service is at 10:30 am this Sunday, 12/22/13 at Veteran's Memorial at Strand Vista Park. At 4:30 pm family invites all to celebrate Ken's life at 33851 Golden Lantern Street. Smiles, tears, hugs, & Hawaiian shirts are encouraged.
