Manuel E. "Manny" Munoz Obituary
Munoz, Manuel E. "Manny"

July 19, 1919 - November 3, 2013

A true gentleman, devoted husband and loving dad, Manuel Enrique "Manny" Munoz has joined his late wife Elsie in eternal life. Manny passed from this life at the age of 94 on November 3, 2013.

Born on July 19, 1919 in San Pedro Montes de Oca, San Jose, Costa Rica. Manny came to the United States originally to study, then met his wife Elsie in New York and soon made the United States his permanent home after their marriage.

Proud of his new country, he served in the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia from 1946-1947.

After moving from New York, Manny settled his family in Arcadia, CA and then San Clemente to enjoy the fine area and beach setting. He enjoyed walks on the beach and attending Rotary Club meetings when he could, as well as family gatherings with Elsie's extended family. He loved San Clemente so much that his daily 180-mile round-trip commute to his job in Burbank was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

Manny worked in the record industry for many, many years as Export Manager for FineTape, USA, a company that made and sold Turn Key installations. With 99% of his work being foreign business, he was in charge of developing and selling tape and record production plants.

His hobbies included listening to music, reading Ancient and Modern history, watching sports, particularly soccer, and doting on his late wife, daughters, and then grandchildren.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Carol Hanika of Pleasant Hill, CA and Vicki Parvin of Irvine, CA. He also leaves five grandchildren, triplet granddaughters, Cerene Larson, Erica Hahn and Jennifer Rastein, and grandsons, Sean and Ian Parvin, who all grew up intimately knowing this wonderful man. In addition, there are 7 great grandchildren too young to have had the pleasure of knowing what a beautiful legacy he leaves. He is also survived by a sister, Mayra Vega in Florida, as well as nieces in Costa Rica.
