Roark, Robert Cameron

Robert was welcomed Home to our Heavenly Father on August 2, 2013. He was 82 years young. He was born to Virginia Goode Roark in San Diego and resided in Orange County and Menifee, CA. Bob touched all he met with his quick wit and warm, friendly demeanor. He was a graduate of San Diego State University and started his own Insurance Agency over 50 years ago. His success can be attributed to hard work and his sincere desire to protect the best interests of his clients. He was honored in the "Who's, Who of the World" He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Lois Maynard Roark whom he met in college. He and Lois provided an idyllic childhood in San Juan Capistrano for his 4 children: Cynthia, Susan and Robert P. Roark, and Kellie Roark Wilson. He joined his son-in-law, Edward Wilson in God's Kingdom. He was a role model to his 6 granddaughters, Whitney and Taylor Wilson and Caitlyn, Breanna, Melissa and Sierra Roark. Bob was passionate about serving others and his community. He sponsored AYSO Soccer Teams and was active in the Lions and Rotary Clubs. He was past president of the Roark-Connor Association in Tennessee, A Commander in the US Coast Guard Auxillary and a published journalist. An avid traveler, Bob always opened his home to friends that he and Lois met on their many worldwide adventures. He also owned a weekend home in Running Springs, CA that was enjoyed by friends and family. Service to be held this Saturday, November 2 at 11:00 am at the United Church of Christ, 26701 McCall Blvd, Sun City, CA.
