John Thomas "J T" Bell Sr. John Thomas "J T" Bell Sr., 89, of Newton Street, Orange, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Countryside Assisted Living in Pratts. He was born on September 22, 1923, in Orange County, the son of the late James Thomas Bell and Esther Beahm Bell. He was also predeceased by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Armstrong Bell; and one son, John T. Bell Jr. "J T" is survived by two daughters, Betty Bell Dodson and husband, Larry, of Madison, and Pamela Bell Henry of Orange; a daughter-in-law, Constance W. Bell of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Stephen R. Mahalick of Orange, Andrea J. Bunce and husband, Brian, of Barboursville, Kellie C. Bell of Waynesboro, J. Matthew Bell and wife, Jenny, of Florida, Schuyler L. Henry of Henrico, and Kendall M. Henry of Charlottesville; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rebie Bell Purdum of Mechanicsville. "J T" was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 156, the Civil Air Patrol, and a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a avid photographer and fisherman. He was a retired machinist with the Jones Auto Parts of Madison. A memorial funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange, officiated by the Reverend Terry Jewell. Interment was private. The family received friends immediately after the memorial service at the funeral home.
