Allen B. Estis Notice
Estis, Allen B.Major Allen Brantley Estis, USAF, Ret., went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2013. Born on February 25, 1930 in Coffeeville, AL, he was the son of the late Walter Brantley Estis and Ellen B. Motes. Allen was married to the late Margaret H. Ashley for 28 years. He is survived by two sisters: Beatrice Shade, Mary Norris and one brother: Johnny Estis; four nieces: Patricia Deese, Penny Walker, Carolyn Sheffield and Annette Hodge; and by three granddaughters: Cheryl Peterson, Cindy Sasser, Christi Whitcomb, and one grandson, Bill Rider. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Hodge and a brother, Chesley Estis. Allen served in the USAF for 20 years. He and his late wife, Margaret, retired to Chuluota, FL in 1980, and resided there until his passing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and fellow members of the Chuluota VFW. He loved his dog Buttons. Hobbies included gardening, fixing things and finding a good deal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Chuluota, FL. A small service was held on October 12, 2013, and a Military Tribute will be scheduled in the near future.
