Barry J. Lowenthal Notice
LOWENTHAL, BARRY J., 77, of Miami and Altamonte Springs, took his final journey on Oct. 10 due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease after a lengthy fight against them. He was born in Cedarhurst, NY on October 14, 1934. He attended Farmingdale School of Agriculture, then graduated from the University of Georgia before entering the U.S. Army. Upon returning home in 1953, his love of nature took him to found The Bonsai Bench in Homestead along with Mary Miller. He moved to Central Florida in 1995 after surviving a major heart attack. He later became active in the senior community and performed in several Savvy Seniors and Fabulous Follies revues. Barry passed his love of nature to all who came close to him, his wonderful sense of humor touched many people. He is survived by his sister, Jane and her husband, Richard; children Lisa and Robert; grandchildren
Anna Lowenthal, Zachary, Jake and Julia Rice; and nieces Julie Kantor and Jodi Rouviere. Other family members include Larry Kantor,
Nicole Kantor and Jacob Kantor, Andre Rouviere, Taylor Rouviere, Zachary Rouviere, Koby Rouviere and Sydney Rouviere. Funeral services will be held Oct. 14 at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th St., Miami at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the or the Humane Society of the United States.
