Carmen Blackwelder Notice
Blackwelder, Carmen Carmen G. Blackwelder, age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at home after a short illness. She was born on February 18, 1930 in Cayay, PR to the late Aurilio Gonzales and Anna Marie Rivera. Carmen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was devoted to her church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who knew her agree she was one of the kindest, most giving, loving women they had ever met. Carmen spent 27 years as a public school teacher and touched the lives of thousands of young boys and girls. She is predeceased by her husband, Fergus, her son Patrick, and sister, Epifania. Carmen leaves behind sisters Anna Maria Gonzales and Isabelle Gonzales as well as brother Mario Luis Gonzales. Carmen is also survived by sons, Edwin; Elliott and wife Carla; David and wife Rene; Mitchell; daughter Anita and husband Jeff Stamer, and daughter-in-law, Karen. Grandchildren Aaron, Sherri, Brandi, Patrick, Kristin, Stephanie, Lauren, Jonathan, Amanda, Ryan, Emily Rose, Nikki, Lacey and ten great grandchildren remember their grandmother with much love and kindness. . A memorial service will be held on January 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
