POTCHEN, JESSIE, May 7, 1935 - November 10, 2012. Jessie passed away from a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 10 with her husband of 56 years by her side. She was the daughter of Cleon and Joy Bliss and beloved sister of Orville Bliss and Joanne Horne (all predeceased). Jessie was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. She graduated from East Grand Rapids High School and then Michigan State University. Jessie married Thomas Potchen, her best friend and soul mate, on June 23, 1956 in Grand Rapids, MI. Tom and Jessie moved to Winter Park, FL in 1967 with their three sons, Robert, David and Douglas Potchen. Jessie enjoyed gardening, landscaping, traveling and having great times with her eight grandchildren. Jessie is survived by her adoring husband, Tom; her three sons and their spouses, Bob and Alice Potchen, Dave and Lisa Potchen, Doug and Diane Potchen; and the grandchildren, Justin Potchen, Heather Potchen, Matthew Potchen, Joe Potchen, Leah Potchen, Laura Potchen, Brooke Potchen and Amy Potchen. A memorial service will be held in her honor at Glenn Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at
www.alzfdn.org, would be greatly appreciated.
