ELLARD, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, November 25th, with his wife Amy Phillips Grant and best friend Jerry Everett at his side. Dick was born in Gallup, NM April 2, 1939 and raised in El Paso, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso and later received a Masters in English. After Officer Candidate School, Dick served in the U.S. Navy, eventually achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He entered Virginia Theological Seminary in 1978. Following ordination, he served four parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas until he moved to Orlando in 2002. Dick served at The Cathedral Church of St. Luke, was a chaplain for Dr. P. Phillips Hospital and volunteered at IDignity. In addition to his wife Amy, he is survived by daughters Katie
Christianson (Kel) of Owings, MD; Susan Hagler (Art) of Alexandria, VA; Rebecca Spence (Pat) of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; and brother Dr. Charles C. Grant, Maitland, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Cathedral Church of St. Luke or Anglicans for Life, 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley, PA 15143-1522. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Sunday, December 9th, at 2 p.m. at The Cathedral Church of St. Luke, 130 N. Magnolia Avenue (P. O. Box 2328), Orlando, FL 32802-2328, with a reception following in the Great Hall.
