Robert Kennedy "Kenny" Carter Notice
Carter, Robert Kennedy "Kenny" 54, Corporal, United States Marine, son of William (Bill) H. Carter and the late Honorable Betty F. Carter passed away April 28, 2013 from a heart attack. After graduating from Apopka High School, Kennedy proudly served in the Marine Corp in Parris Island, SC (Expert Marksman), Okinawa, Japan (where he received a Meritorious Award and Promotion), and Camp LeJune North Carolina for four years. As a Marine Reservist he returned home to Florida where he worked for Walt Disney World and owned a successful Landscape Maintenance Company. For the past year, Ken lived in Largo Florida enjoying the sunshine, beach and surf fishing. Kennedy was a 6' 6" tall teddy bear with an infectious smile. He loved fishing, was a veracious reader, loved to ride his Harley and was an astute politician. He was a past chairman for the democratic committee of Lake County. A gentle giant, he was charismatic, gregarious, witty and intelligent. He is survived by his Father, his sons; Dalton Carter, Wade Williams, Jacob Williams and step daughter, Tracy McGlothlin. Siblings Sharyn Carter Hill, Scott Carter, Steve Carter, Valery Carter Tucker and many nieces and nephews. Kennedy will be honored with a full Military Service by the Barnwell County Marine League at the Morgan Cemetery in Springfield, South Carolina.
