CLIFFORD, Edward (Ted)
80, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 3, 2013 of COPD. He is survived by his beloved wife Guilda Dubé, by three children from a previous marriage to Holly LeGros (deceased): Diana, David (Michele Czech), Danita (Brad Morrison) and three grandchildren Nicholas, Jensa and Theodore. Ted was a passionate and talented man. He was best known as a journalist for The Globe and Mail, primarily for the Report of Business. Former Business editor Tim Pritchard said "Ted was a pro, and in the newspaper business that means he could tackle any story, cover all the bases, write it smartly and meet his deadline. He's the only employee I ever tried to rehire." Early retirement gave Ted a chance to pursue many unfulfilled dreams. He sang with barbershop choruses and travelled throughout North and South America and Europe. He earned a pilot's license following in the footsteps of his father and brother Ron. Friends are invited to visit at the St Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, (at Aviation Parkway) on Friday August 23 from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3pm. Donations to the Élisabeth-Bruyère Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
