Elizabeth (née Croft) Blais

Died peacefully August 14, 2014 in her 94th year. Pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Lt. Col. Edmond Blais. Dear mother of Edmond (Christine), Stephen (Rosemary), Barbara (Jules) and Pamela (Marvin). Loving grandmother to Peter, David, Victoria, Gabriella, Simon, Sophia, Oliver and Audrey. Will be greatly missed by her constant companion Jean Leclair.

Born in Lincolnshire, England, Liz served overseas during WWII with the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service as a hospital ship nurse. After emigrating to Canada post-war to marry Edmond, she made Ottawa home, with stints in Washington, D.C.; Brussels, Belgium; and elsewhere. Liz continued her career as a nurse, followed by Duvet Shop proprietor and antiquarian. Brave, whip-smart, stylish and giving, she will be keenly missed.

Special thanks to the caring staff of Bradford House, Garry J. Armstrong Home. Interment ceremony to be held September 13, 3 pm, Beechwood Cemetery, Section 27. Donations in Liz's memory can be made to The Alzheimer's Society.
