Peacefully at the Gatineau Hospital on March 28, 2014 in his 90th year. Emery Hotte, Veteran WWII (France, Germany, Holland & England); United Nations Emergency Force Middle East; NATO (Germany); NATO HQ (Brussels, Belgium); Foreign Tours included Washington 1951-56; Middle East 1958-59; Germany 1961-64. Member of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping; Royal Canadian Legion Branch 554 Rockland and the Knights of Columbus, Gatineau (Branch 9988). Emery beloved husband of the late Jean Hotte and dear friend of Joan d'Arc L'Heureux. Dear father of Peter Hotte, grandfather of Chantelle (John Joyce) and great-grandfather of Mackenzie and Brenda. Also survived by his adopted daughter Diane Bowden, her husband Eddie and children Beverly and Bradley (Jodi Barrett, children Luke and Natalie). He comes from a family of 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitations will take place on Monday, March 31st, 2014 at the Coopérative funéraire de l'Outaouais, 1369 boul. La Vérendrye O. Gatineau from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Sainte-Maria-Goretti, 664 rue de Berger, Gatineau, QC on Tuesday April 1st 2014, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping, Box 46026, 2339 Ogilvie Road, Gloucester, Ontario, K1J 9M7, would be appreciated. Many thanks to the kind staff at Residence de La Gappe for making Emery's Journey much happier, and to the staff at the Gatineau Hospital.
