Eleanor "Ellie" K. Plum, of Midland, died unexpectedly, at her home on Dec. 5, 2013.
Eleanor was born on Nov. 13, 1938, in Midland to Renus and Yvonne F. (Gusman) Jackson. Eleanor married Harrison T. Plum Jr. on July 11, 1959, he predeceased her on May 5, 2009.
Eleanor loved spending time at her cottage in Caseville and working outdoors. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and the many children she took care of at her in home day care. She was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. Her dog Missy will be lost without her. Ellie graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University
. She ran an in home daycare for over 35 years.
Eleanor is survived by sons and daughters in law, Michael (Sally) Plum of St Petersburg, Fla., Steve (Nancy) Plum of Keller, Texas, Dave Plum of Midland, Rick (Wendy) Plum of Saginaw, Greg Plum of Howell, Tim Plum of Midland, grandchildren; Tyler, Kaylyn, Andrea, Haley, Tanner, Kirk, Ashley, Carson, Anna and Brady. She is also survived by her brothers Dick Jackson and Tom Jackson.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church with Father Patrick O'Connor officiating.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly St. and at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. A vigil service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A grave side service will take place at 1:30 p.m. at New Calvary Cemetery.
