Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Jeff Kinkel, 64, succumbed to brain cancer on Dec. 7, 2012, at Wesley Chapel, Fla. Jeff was born in Midland on July 10, 1948.

He was a graduate of Midland High School, served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a welder/steamfitter in the UA Local 85. He was a member of VFW Post 5738, American Legion 0443, and Eagles 3655. Jeff loved old cars, bowling, being with his family and GOLFING!

Jeff is survived by his wife, Connie Kay Sherriff-Kinkel of Wesley Chapel, Fla. They were married Jan. 30, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland. He is also survived by daughter, Jolene Rae Kinkel of Midland, her children, Travis of Beaverton and John of Massachusetts; daughter, Rhonda (Shane) Hannahs, children, Necole, Kelley, Hayden and Taylor of Wyoming; son, Geoffrey Charles Kinkel of Midland, grandchildren Lily and Megan; sister, Carla Kinkel Crossland of Clayton, N.C. and LaShawn Maier-Culp in Great Falls, Va. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Onalee Kinkel; niece, Devinee Maier; and great-nephew, Dakoda Maier.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, Midland. Full military honors will be presented by the Midland Area Veterans and the Department of the U.S. Navy. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center or St Jude's Children Hospital in honor of Geoffrey Kinkel.
