May-hui Tong, 74, former long-time resident of Midland, passed away peacefully at her home in Glendale, Wis. on Monday, June 9, 2014. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon, Wis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

May-hui Chiang was born April 27, 1940 in Fong-yuan, Taiwan to Chiang Shi-tou and Hsieh Jiao-eh. She received a B.A. in Economics from the prestigious National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. She married Wen-hong Tong, who also graduated from National Taiwan University and received his PhD from Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Ind. They then moved to Midland for her husband's job at The Dow Chemical Co. as a chemist. They lived in Midland for over 40 years where they raised their family. May's proudest achievement was that all three of her children became physicians. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

May-hui is survived by Wen-hong, her husband of more than 50 years; daughters, Linda (Humphrey Wong) of Davenport, Iowa, Peggy (Charles Yang) of Milwaukee, Wis., and Stacy (Peter Hui) of Kennewick, Wash.; grandchildren, Alex and Nathan Wong, Nicholas and Natalie Yang, Connor, Kaylee and Sammy Hui; sisters, Chu-jing Hsu of Taipei, Taiwan and Shu-yun Wang of Houston, Texas; and brother, Huang-zhang Chiang of Taipei, Taiwan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
