Robert J. "Bob" Marr, 68, of Sanford, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. The son of the late George E. and Marie V. (Black) Marr, Robert was born in Saginaw on March 20, 1945.

Bob went on to Ferris State University Pharmacy School, graduating in 1967. He was employed with Sparrow Hospital in Lansing as a pharmacist until retiring in 2003. Bob has also worked for many other pharmacies in the area after his retirement.

He enjoyed being on the water, boating, fishing, reading and attending his grandkids sporting events.

Bob was a member of Our Lady of Grace (St. Agnes Catholic Church) Sanford, the Knights of Columbus Council 8043, and was an avid MSU fan and coached youth hockey.

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, the former Sharon A. "Sherry" Foley, of whom he married on Oct. 10, 1970 in St. Helens Catholic Church in Saginaw; son Bret (Jenna) Marr of Okemos; daughter, Jenny Marr of Hiawatha, Kan.; grandchildren, Owen, Alaina and Bennett; brothers, Mike (LuAnn) Marr of Bridgeport, Tim (Linda) Marr of Saginaw, Tom (Susan) Marr of Longmont, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at From Our Lady of Grace (St. Agnes Catholic) Church, 2500 W. River Road in Sanford, with Fr. Dan Fox OFM, Cap officiating.

Family will receive friends at the CHURCH on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to St. Agnes Church or Morrill Public Library, 431 Oregon St. Hiawatha, Kan., 66434.
