Robert W. Leipprandt, 78, of Midland, died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2012, at Tendercare in Midland. He was born July 10, 1934, in Pigeon, son of the late Oliver and Dorothy (Armbruster) Leipprandt. Robert grew up in the Thumb, attending Holy Cross Lutheran School and graduating from Pigeon High School in 1952. After high school Robert had worked for Kroger Food Stores in Caro and Bay City. He married the former Beverly Trisch in Caro on February 4, 1961, and she survives him. In 1966, Robert went to work for the City of Midland as a firefighter, retiring from there in 1990. Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Pamela Leipprandt of Midland and Sandra (Earl) Ventry and their children Victoria and Vaughn all of Blacksburg VA; a brother, Don Leipprandt of Bad Axe; brothers-in-laws, Wayne (Kathy) Trisch, Gene (Harriet) Trisch, Roger (Linda) Trisch, and Dennis (Naomi) Trisch all of Caro; sisters-in-law, Sharon Trisch of Bay City, Gloria (Wes) O'Dell of Mayville, and Rosemary (Victor) Matuszak of Caro; his adopted 'big brother,' Walter Knutson of Midland; and his bicycle buddy, 'Mac'. Funeral services for Robert will take place 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, from St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 W. Carpenter St. Pastor Matthew Makela will officiate, with interment to follow in Midland City Cemetery. Robert's family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Monday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
