Roger Clark Haring, 93, of Prudenville and formerly of Midland, passed away at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, Fla. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.

Roger was born Dec. 13, 1920 in Clare, to George and Ethel (Crawford) Haring. He served in the US Army during WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. Roger married Evelyn Marie Nalley Nov. 22, 1947 in Saginaw. He retired from Consumers Energy after 30 years. The couple moved to Prudenville in 1976 from Midland. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, life member of the Disabled American Veterans organization and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors.

Roger is survived by a daughter, Patti M. Haring of San Carlos, Calif.; sons, Thomas (Christina) Haring of Port Orange, Fla., and Jeffrey (Gitte) Haring of Arhus, Denmark; sister, Laurellei Parsons of Mason; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and wife, Evelyn Haring in 2011.

The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 11 a.m., with Fr. Joe Muskiewicz to officiate. Visitation will take place on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Denton Township Cemetery.
