Bobby Dale Castillo Obituary
BOBBY DALE CASTILLO Bob passed away April 25, 2013. He was born April 22, 1943 in Riverside. He attended local public schools. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961, and faced down Soviet and Cuban Communists, seeking to destroy our nation. He served in Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He will be sorely missed by his mother, Betty Castillo of Riverside; his daughter Elizabeth A. Castillo of Menifee; his son, William Castillo of Hemet. His bothers, Bill Castillo of Friday Harbor, Washington, Randy Susens of Herald and Edward D. Castillo of Cotati, lovingly remember our older brother. Bob, like his father and uncle, was an outstanding leader in Veteran Affairs. He dedicated much of his adult life to support and was an advocate for his fellow warriors. He spent the last thirty years of his life as an active member of Riverside's American Legion Post #79. He served several leadership posts in every appointed and elected volunteer position in local, state wide and national legion affairs, including several terms as post commander. He also demonstrated compassion for his fellow veterans by serving as a member of the honor guard in hundreds of burial ceremonies, escorting, marching and flag folding rituals. He was a man of honor, courage and commitment. He will be interred at the Riverside National Veterans Cemetery May 22, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. There he will join his father, and uncle and thousands of fellow fallen warriors. Rest in peace Brother.
