Donald Eugene Willett Obituary
DONALD EUGENE WILLETT Age 85, of Hemet, CA, passed away on February 24, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Donald was born on Saturday, May 7, 1927 to Ernest and Martha Willett in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Donald proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II as a Coxswain. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and went on to work for the Long Beach Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1988. While living in Orange County, Donald was very active in the Moose Lodge, presiding as a Governor for many years. While living in Hemet, he became a very active member of the Elks Lodge 1740. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Ruth, in their RV visiting family and friends across country. Donald enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Colonial Country Club Mobile Park and was a championship bowler in his younger years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Willett. Donald is survived by his daughter, Catherine Baker of Corona, CA and his son and daughter-in-law, David and Pamela Willett of Bellingham, WA; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:30 am at McWane Family Funeral Home, 350 North San Jacinto Street, Hemet, CA 92543. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Elks Lodge 1740, 1305 West Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543. Donald will be laid to rest with his wife Ruth at Riverside National Cemetery. Donald touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him.
