Raymond Fuller Larsen Obituary
RAYMOND FULLER LARSEN July 30, 1932- April 8, 2013 Raymond Larsen of Riverside, CA passed away Monday at the age of 80 years old. He was born in Pennsylvania, but spent most of his childhood in New Jersey with his parents Martin and Euphemia Larsen, sister Jane Wacker, and two brothers, Martin and Daniel Larsen. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after not meeting the weight requirements for the Navy. A proud American and patriot through and through he remained in the Air Force for 20+ years. He is a veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. While stationed in Korea he gained a pen pal by the name of Patricia Ann Nurss, who had received his name from a friend. Those letters quickly turned into something more and the two married on May 12, 1954. Never did you find a more faithful and loving husband than Ray. You could often find the two off on a road trip across country, spending a weekend in Las Vegas, driving down to Newport for pizza, or golfing and relaxing at Warner Springs Ranch- many times taking other family members along with them on their adventures. Ray is survived by his dear Pat; three daughters, Susan Sappington, Lori Erwin Beal, and Pamela Clark; and four grandchildren, Katherine "Katie" Erwin Detwiler, Melissa Erwin, Nicole Scribner Gruntz and Joseph "Joey" Scribner. He is also survived by his sister and brothers, and numerous other nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. For a man of not too many words, he was the rock of the family and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1pm at the funeral home of Acheson & Graham, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504. Notes for the family can be left on the guestbook at the Acheson & Graham website: www.dignitymemorial.com, through the 'Obituaries & Services' section.
