Survivors include sister-in-law, Thelma Goetze; and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Bradley University with a degree in journalism, Alice became a freelance journalist. She was a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and was listed in Marquis "Who's Who of American Women." During that time, she also published two books, a mystery and a memoir. The family would like to thank all of Alice's nurses who cared for her, Debbie, Jill, Joyce, Judy, Katie, Kris, Liz, Margie, Mary Therese, Shari and Tracy.
