Bernie Crane Obituary

MANITO - Burllen A. "Bernie" Crane, 80, of Manito, Ill., passed away at 7:47 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

Bernie was born on Feb. 23, 1934, in Dixon, Mo., to Samuel and Beatrice (Wright) Crane. He married Thelma Page. She passed away on Jan. 1, 2003. He married Shirley Wiker on May 19, 2004, in Harrisburg, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one stepdaughter, Sherry Page; and one sister, Betty Abrain.

Surviving are five stepsons, Kent (Kelly) Wiker of Pekin, Brian Wiker of Pekin, Brent (Paula) Wiker of Spring Grove, Ill., Joe Page of Elizabethtown, Ill., and Dave (Kim) Page of Americus, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Connie (Todd) Shelabarger of Manito and Veronica Wiker of Waukegan, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bernie was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a machinist at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 1982.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 at the funeral home.
