Elmwood - Betty R. King, 82, of Elmwood passed away at 4:07 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at OSF St. Mary's Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born at home outside of Yates City on Nov. 22, 1929, to Harry and Alma (Lindzey) Runyon.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one step-grandson.
She is survived by two children, Jennifer L. (the late Jack) Wilson of Farmington and Ellery "Butch" (Darlene) King of rural London Mills; one brother, Gene Runyon; one sister, Agnes Snyder; one grandson, Jacob Wilson; one stepgranddaughter, Carolyn Trone; and one great-grandson, Matt (Lacey) McMahill.
Betty worked 32 years for Caterpillar, retiring in 1985.
She lived her life for her family, and enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone.
She was a former member of the Women of the Moose, Farmington Lodge, and was an active member of Elmwood United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, with the Rev. Mark Graham officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow services at Elmwood Twp. Cemetery.
