LOW POINT - Bobby Johnson, 71, of Lowpoint died at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, in Peoria.
He was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Aurora, Mo., to Ollie Watkins.
He is survived by his lifelong loving companion of 37 years, Eula Harrell; his son, Montye (Tamra) Jolliff of Lewistown; his granddaughter, Kylee Joyce Harrell of Metamora; his cousins, Gerald (Charlotte) Lawson, Sheila Hicks, Cheryl High, Lonnie Lawson and a special second cousin, Chance High.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kyle Harrell, in 2000.
He was the founder and head of the Kyle Harrell Veterans Outreach Center through The Salvation Army in Peoria.
He owned and operated several businesses throughout the Peoria area.
He served his nation in the United States Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Navy-Marine Club in Peoria Heights, and he was of the Baptist faith.
Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Chuck Wilcox will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the mortuary. Burial, with military rites provided by the United States Marine Corps and the Tazewell County Military Honors Team, will be in Spring Bay Cemetery, in Spring Bay.
