PEKIN - Charles F. Jarvill, 83, of Pekin, Ill., passed away at 4:58 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Pekin Hospital.

Chuck was born on March 20, 1930, in Payson, Ill., to Floyd and Bertha (Cooper) Jarvill. He married Ann Sapp on Aug. 20, 1955, in Summer Hill, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Ann of Pekin; two sons, Steven (Lori) Jarvill of Pekin and Craig (Marilyn) Jarvill of Reston, Va.; two grandchildren, Drae (Melissa) Jarvill of Pekin, Ill., and Dara (Tyler) Funk of Silverdale, Wash.; three stepgrandchildren, Harry Layman of New York, N.Y., James (Lauren) Layman of Burlington, Vt., and Colleen (Seric) Fallon of Miami, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Lauren and Kami Jarvill and Anders Funk; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Claire Layman: and one brother, Robert (Lu) Jarvill of Quincy, Ill.

Chuck graduated from Quincy High School in 1948 and the University of Illinois in 1955.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He worked in the accounting department at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Chuck was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin, Sunset Golf Club, Elks Lodge 1271 and Pekin Moose Lodge 916.

He was an avid bowler and golfer. He bowled a 300 game in 1964 and had seven holes-in-ones. He was honored with the Al Weaver Integrity award during the 2004 Best Ball.

A visitation celebrating Chuck's life will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin. Cremation will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or TAPS.
