She was born on Sept. 28, 1916, in Rapatee, Ill. She was the daughter of Walter Brashear and Clara (Johnson) Brashear. Clara married John Michela on April 16, 1939, in Canton, Ill. John preceded her in death on March 21, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Meyers; her brother, Walter Brashear Jr.; and two sisters, Thelma Shreffler and Lois Sandberg. Clara now reunites with sisters, Thelma and Lois, to reform the Singing Brashear Sisters of yesteryear fame.
