BARTONVILLE - Dorothy "Jean" McSimov Hacker, 85, of Bartonville passed away at 11:22 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Hersman, Ill., the daughter of Gene Van Devinter and May Byram. She married Louis McSimov in 1956. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1975. She later married Orville L. Hacker on June 12, 1984, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2005.

Jean is survived by one son, Michael (Bonnie) McSimov of Bartonville; five stepsons, Richard (Carole) McSimov of Henderson, Nev., Ted McSimov of Williamsfield, Keith (Gail) Hacker of Bartonville, Gary (Laura) Hacker of Bartonville and Dusty (Leslie) Hacker of Norwood; two stepdaughters, Tracey Shortridge of Bartonville and Kim Peterson of Bellevue; two sisters, Grace (Henry) Bridgewater of Morton and Brenda (Jim) Himmelberg of Missouri; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill; one daughter, Cindy Fehl; and one stepdaughter, Denise Tripp.

Jean worked in the Caterpillar Restaurant for 30 years, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bartonville, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Debbie Howard will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Easter Seals for her great-grandson, Payton McSimov.
