ROSEVILLE - Ethel Louise Hayden, 104, of Springfield, mother of a Roseville man, died at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Heritage Health.
She was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Glasgow, Mo., to Daniel Preston and Bessie O'Dell Bowler Reynolds. She married Cecil Roy Hayden on June 3, 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1974.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald R. Hayden; two brothers; one sister; one adopted brother, Jack; one adopted sister, Joyce; one grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by two daughters, Marian (Leroy) Solomon of Springfield and Linda Bennet of Springboro, Ohio; two sons, James R. (Norma) Hayden of Roseville, Ill., and Charles Robert (Margie) Hayden of Jamestown, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ethel was a member of United Methodist Church in Glasgow, Mo.
She was a waitress for many years at Art Bensch Restaurant, The Robin Hood, The Flamingo, Elks Club, Skyrocket, Curley's Lounge, the Abe Lincoln Hotel and many others.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield. Funeral service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Reverend Dan Wilson officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Glasgow Cemetery in Glasgow, Mo.
