WYOMING - Francis B. Barnes, 75, of Wyoming passed away Monday, March 31, 2014.
Francis was born on Feb. 6, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Bernard and Mary McIntyre Barnes. He married Barbara Kenward in Delavan, Ill., on Aug. 29, 1964. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2013.
Surviving are one daughter, Dr. Debra Owens of Sullivan, Ill.; two grandchildren, Patrick and Elizabeth Owens; one brother, Thomas (Angie) Barnes of Sparland, Ill.; and two sisters, JoAnn (Robert) Palmer of Lombard, Ill., and Catherine Aldridge of Normal, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his half-sister, Celestine Mayr, and son-in-law William Owens.
Francis graduated from Wyoming High School in 1957. Farming was his love. He also enjoyed showing cattle at the 4-H club, NASCAR, tractor pulls, and loved to visit with folks. He was a great father and grandfather.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for more than 35 years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Wyoming, where a funeral Mass will be at noon Friday, April 4, 2014. The Rev. Father Vien Van Do will officiate. Burial will be in St. Dominic Cemetery, Wyoming.
