Frank Lang Obituary

MORTON - Frank Lang, 90, of Morton passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 19, 1923, in Newburgh, Ind., to Henry and Magalena Kripp Lang. He married Roxi Parrish on Oct. 26, 1951, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Randall Lang of Newark, Mo.; two daughters, Kay (Larry) Weeks of Tremont and Leia (Tom) Springer of Pekin; six grandchildren, Andy (Kim) DuPage of Tremont, Amy DuPage of Tremont, Alex Weeks of Hopedale, Amanda (Russell) Spencer of Marquette Heights, Austin Wood of Pekin and Stacey (Brandon) Devers; and one brother, Art (Ginny) Lang of Tremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Frank worked at Sealtest Foods in Peoria, retiring in 1985.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II under General Patton's Army, receiving four Bronze Stars and numerous other medals.

He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 627.

Frank enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and spending time with his family.

He attended Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria, where his funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. Pastor Tom Myers will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church and one hour before the service at the church. Entombment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with full military honors by U.S. Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Davis Mortuary in Tremont is in charge of arrangements.
