PEKIN - George E. English, 78, of Pekin passed away at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his home.
George was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Washington, D.C., to Joseph P. and Julia (Crenshaw) English. He married Judith E. Moeller on June 1, 1957, in St. Paul, Ill. She passed away Dec. 17, 2005.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael; four infant children; one infant grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
George is survived by one son, David (Heather) English of Pekin; one daughter, Barbara (Rodney) Mount of Delavan; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Waldridge of Bowling Green, Ky., and Betty Elkins of Wichita, Kan.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Green Valley.
He was a member of Pekin Radio Controlled Model Airplane Club and Academy of Model Aeronautics since 1966. He enjoyed doing genealogy.
George retired from 21st Century Dental as a dental equipment technician.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. prior to services. The Rev. Gene Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors.
