CHILLICOTHE - Gerald H. Kobischka, age 80, of Chillicothe passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at 12:15 p.m. at his residence.
He was born June 12, 1933, in Rockford to Fred and Myrtle (Nelson) Kobischka. He married Gladys Lundholm on June 27, 1952, in Rockford. She passed away Sept. 3, 1998, at their home on Blue Ridge.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Starlyn Kobischka; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, Brad (Hyeson) Kobischka of Pekin; two daughters, Jalana Rusk of Chillicothe and Malacca Kobischka of Rockford; six grandchildren, Chad, Ben, Clem, Cora, Zach and Rebecca; and one brother, Don Kobischka of Rockford.
Gerald was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe. A visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Special Olympics or Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
