CUBA - Howard S. Morgan, 76, of 138 E. Washington passed away at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Cuba, the son of Stephen Eugene and Louise (Logan) Morgan. He married Betty Dobbs on Sept. 3, 1960, in Kirksville, Mo.
She survives, with one son, Michael (Amy) Morgan of Wee-Ma-Tuk; one daughter, Betsy (Randy) Pagan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Susie Morgan of Cuba; five grandchildren, Kara (Josh) Harris of Galesburg, Jacob (Taylor) Morgan of Elmwood, Cassandra Pagan of Boston, Mass., Russell Pagan of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joshua Morgan of Colfax; two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Reid Harris; and one sister, Bev (Gary) Bevard of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen E. Morgan; and one sister, Mildred "Micky" Bartlett.
Howard served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, including during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He later worked for 23 years at Caterpillar Inc. East Peoria plant before retiring. After retirement he drove a school bus for Cuba School District.
He was a member of Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, with the Rev. Michael Barnett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Interment of ashes will be in Cuba Cemetery, with full military honors accorded.
