east Peoria - Jack Lee McLaren, 86, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of East Peoria, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1927, to Alexander and Mario (Weir) McLaren in Clinton, Ind.

Jack was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

He was a graduate of Rose Hulman, class of 1950, where he was captain of the football team and a member of Theta Xi Fraternity.

Jack was employed in the service department of engine division of Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 1986.

Jack was a former member of East Peoria Church of Christ and WestLake Church of Christ in Indianapolis and currently a member of Green Valley Church of Christ.

He was also the president and chairman of the board of Christian Schools in East Peoria, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve M. McLaren of Noblesville, Ind.; daughters, Julie Wilson (Ted) and Jerri Palechka (James); five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James A. McLaren and A.W. McLaren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Green Valley Church of Christ, 19005 Cumberland Road, in Noblesville, with Jim Dillinger officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Terre Haute.
