SPRING BAY - Jack L. Tisdale, 63, of Spring Bay, Ill., died at 6:39 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on July 9, 1949, in Pekin, Ill., to William H. and Dollie Hubbartt Tisdale. He married Kathryn Marlin on June 5, 1971, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, William (Melanie) Tisdale of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four sisters, Cindy (Purvis) Robinson of Peoria, Becky (Ernest) Jones of Peoria, Karen (Jose) Pallares of Peoria and Sandra Fikara of Dixon, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Connie Marlin of Keokuk, Iowa, and Mary Ann (Lloyd) Crombie of Washington; and two brothers-in-law, Barry Marlin of Spring Bay and Paul Marlin of Keokuk, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Janelle Lowery of Gaston, S.C., Daniel Marlin of Peoria, Ill., Sean (Nicole) Crombie of Pekin, Amelia (Nick Christy) Crombie of Washington, Ryan (Lacey) Marlin of Sacramento, Calif., Kevin (Crystal) Marlin of Keokuk, Iowa, and Megan (Jeremiah) LaBresh of Des Moines, Iowa; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and his best canine buddy, Pedro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews and three brothers-in-law, John, Peter and Phillip Marlin.
Jack served his country during the Vietnam War in the Marine Corps. He operated a Mobile Armed Services Radio.
Since 1991, he worked for the state of Illinois in the Illinois Department of Employment Security. He last worked in January 2013.
He was a member of American Legion Post 1115 in Spring Bay, Tuesday Night All-Star Bowling League in Peoria and was a committee member for Boy Scouts of America Troop 163 in Washington.
He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.
He loved to go camping and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Kate. They traveled and saw many parts of the country. He loved to pass time reading.
There will be a celebration of life for Jack on Monday, April 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Richard Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Keokuk, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts Troop 163 in Washington.
