CHILLICOTHE - Jerome B. Elwell, 30, of Mundelein, formerly of Chillicothe, died on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at 12 noon at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Father Keith Walder will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service time at the church. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.

Jerome was born on May 20, 1983, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Bradley J. and Anita C. (Herron) Elwell.

Surviving are his parents, Anita C. (Chris Grose) Elwell of Chillicothe and Bradley (Nicolle) Elwell of Chillicothe; brother, Nathan Elwell of Pekin; sister, Cassandra Elwell of Chillicothe; and stepsisters, Jessica Williams of Chillicothe and Kalliene Williams of Chillicothe. Also surviving are several roommates and staff, including his best friend, Bill, and manager, Marie, who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Amanda; and his grandmother, Carmen Herron.

Jerome lived at Emerson home in Mundelein and worked for the Suddenworkforce program, doing piecework in Northbrook. Jerome's home and workplace were provided by Glenkirk Organization.

Jerome loved hockey, and his two favorite teams were the Peoria Rivermen and Chicago Blackhawks. He was a member of Pearce Center and St. Edward Catholic Church and was a participant in Special Olympics. Jerome's favorite hobbies were rocking out to all his CDs, making and taking apart plastic needlepoint designs, going to Pearce and singing karaoke. He especially loved his home visits with his loving family and enjoyed his mom's cooking, especially mom's broccoli rice casserole.
