PEKIN - JoAnn Rosalie Clayberg, 75, of Pekin passed away at 12:51 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.
Born Feb. 20, 1938, in Peoria to William E. and Martha L. (Samms) Bloom, she married James Gary Clayberg on Sept. 12, 1959, in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Julie (Robert "Bob") Goshorn of Romeoville and Jill Kapusta of Naperville; four grandchildren, Sarah Goshorn, Robert "Bo" Goshorn, Matthew Porter and Shelby Porter; one sister, Mary Jane (Keith) Conkling of Hopedale; and two brothers, Jack (Pam) Bloom of Peoria and Bill (Laura) Bloom Jr. of Pekin.
Her parents preceded her in death.
JoAnn had worked for Caterpillar Inc. as their safety store manager.
JoAnn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Morton and a member and past honored queen of Job's Daughters Bethel 55 in Pekin. She also was a member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673 and Pekin Emblem Club 424. She was a former member and officer of the Cat Girls Club.
JoAnn enjoyed bowling for many years in numerous Peoria area bowling leagues. She was a two-time winner of the Marigold Festival home garden contest and also a two-time winner of the residential Christmas lighting contest.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
