EAST PEORIA - Lorraine Reliford, 83, of East Peoria passed away at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Aurora, Ill., to Leo L. and Etta E. (Rees) McKee. She married Lewis C. Reliford in East Peoria on Nov. 12, 1949. Lorraine and Lewis enjoyed a full life of traveling. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three children, Stephen (Kathryn) Reliford of Germantown Hills, Randall (Kristie) Reliford of South Pekin and Lori (Martin) Dunne of Elmwood; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a school teacher in Creve Coeur for 32 years, retiring in 1985.
She was an award-winning artist in painting, photography and pottery. She was a member of the Illinois Art League and Peoria Art Guild, where she did volunteer work, along with the Illinois Eye Center and PBS.
Lorraine was a member of the East Peoria First United Methodist Church, where memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, with the Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Family will receive friends one hour before services Friday at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
