Normal - Martha A. "Marty" Belsley, 63, of Normal, formerly of Champaign and Morton, passed away at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Heritage Health in Normal.

She was born March 13, 1949, in Sabetha, Kan., to Willard and Eloise (Hartter) Bahr. She married Roger Belsley on Sept. 17, 1978, in Morton.

Surviving are her husband of Normal; her mother, Eloise Bahr of Livonia, Mich.; one daughter, Nicole Belsley of Urbana; one son, Marcus Belsley of Morton; and two brothers, Mark (Bev) Bahr of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Phil (Dawn) Bahr of Livonia, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Mary Aberle.

Marty grew up on a farm in Sabetha, Kan., where she enjoyed working with her father raising and showing cattle at various 4-H events. Marty also had an interest in doing her own car maintenance, a skill she was taught by her father.

Marty was a 1968 graduate of Sabetha High School.

She was a certified nursing assistant for many years, working in Sabetha, Kan., and Morton.

Marty was of the Christian faith for more than 40 years.

She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and the University of Illinois.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Kindred, Dr. Harold Nord, Dr. Lawrence Raines, Heritage Health - Normal and Passages Hospice for the wonderful, tender loving care Marty received.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Private family and burial services will be held. Interment will be in the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
