PEORIA - Marvin B. Axelrod, 83, of Peoria, Ill., and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Riverview Care Center in East Peoria.
Marvin was born July 27, 1929, in Peoria, Ill., to Leo and Ethel Weiss Axelrod.
Surviving are his sister, Ravella Singer of Oceanside, Calif.; brother Lionel Axelrod of Fort Myers, Fla.; nephews Steve (Linda) Axelrod of East Peoria, Ill., and Gary Axelrod of Peoria, Ill.; nieces, Lynne Galli of California, and Trudy (Lendel) Burkey of Goshen, Ind.
Marvin was the owner and president of Aluma Wal Inc., in Peoria, Ill. He owned and operated the business for 24 years before retiring in 1984.
Marvin was a graduate of Peoria Manual Training High School and the University of Illinois at Urbana, where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting.
He was a member of Agudas Achim Synagogue and Lakeview Museum.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Peoria Hebrew Cemetery.
