ELMWOOD - Peggy E. Land, 57, of Elmwood passed away at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a courageous seven-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1957, in Peoria to Curtis and Evelyn (Snyder) Rowden. They survive, residing in Hanna City. She married Roger Land on Oct. 6, 1973, in Jefferson City, Mo. He also survives.
Other survivors include her son, Curtis J. Land of Elmwood; granddaughter, Tabitha Land of Hanna City; siblings, Curtis (Anita) Rowden of Metamora, Roger Rowden of Marquette Heights and Shari (David) Lancaster of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Brett Michael Land, in 1986.
Peggy was a registered respiratory therapist for more than 20 years, working for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She had worked at Rowden's Cafe in Elmwood for several years.
She was a member of Faith Holiness Assembly in Washington.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to services on Saturday. The Rev. Nathan Green will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Township Cemetery in Elmwood.
Memorials may be made to her family or her granddaughter's educational fund.
