MORTON - Richard E. Clark, 77, of Morton passed away at 5:44 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, in the emergency room of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 29, 1936, in Peoria to James S. and Catherine G. (Perry) Clark. He married Sharon Taylor on June 10, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Surviving are one son, Scott (Lori) Clark of Morton; one daughter, Sheri (Jeff) Schafer of Effingham, Ill.; four grandchildren, Emma Clark, Dallas Clark, Reed Schafer and Skyler Schafer; two brothers, James (Lydia) Clark of Cocoa, Fla., and William (Jacquelyn) Clark of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and one sister, Kathryn Gerken of Iowa City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dawn Clark-Brown in 1994; and one granddaughter, Kaitlin Brown in 2013.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1959 to 1961 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Richard owned and operated The Liquor Station in Morton for more than 30 years, until his retirement.
He was a member of the Days of Grace Fellowship in Morton and a former member of the Morton Optimist Club.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Randy Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
